Cable Entry Adapter for 34-Way Terminal Blocks

The cable entry adapter for 34-way terminal blocks, identified by unified drawing 866 - 46/17, is the standard

mechanical accessory supplied with the general CAT. FS 831/123. While the 8 or 20-way models cover basic

functionalities, the configuration with the 34-way adapter is utilized in more complex trackside installations:

• Point Machine Interface (CTS/MET): used to manage the wiring of 34-way terminal blocks dedicated

         to right or left-hand laying connections (e.g., FS 831/074 or FS 831/075), which are essential for the control

         and power supply of railway point machines.

• Complex Signal Concentration: manages the entry of cables for multi-aspect color light signals (e.g., Home or

         Departure Signals with route indicators) where the number of electrical returns to the control cabin requires

         the use of a 34-pole intermediate terminal block (e.g., FS 831/072).

• Anchoring and Strain Relief: ensures the mechanical clamping of the heavy multipolar incoming cable.

         This prevents continuous vibrations generated by passing trains over turnouts or ballast from transferring
